Web Producer
 
The Detroit News is seeking a night digital news producer to post and curate stories from our award-winning staff of reporters and from our wire services to continue our run as the top digital news site in Michigan. The producer must be in tune with local news, businesses, entertainment options and sports teams. We expect our producers to be fluent in monitoring and contributing to social media and to have a high comfort level with monitoring and responding to analytics, search and social trends. The producer’s primary role is to display the work of our staff in a way that best attracts readers, adding links, graphics, images and other elements that take our published stories to the next level.
 
Hours include nights and weekends. Under The News’ current hybrid workplace policy, employees must work in the office at least two days per week.
 
This job is full-time and includes benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of previous work in journalism. Recent college graduates will be considered.
