Objective

Maya is an associate social newsgathering reporter at NBC News focusing on monitoring social media platforms for breaking, feature and trending news stories and reporting them out. As an associate social newsgathering reporter, I am responsible for monitoring social media platforms for breaking, feature and trending news stories to be used on all NBCU platforms, partners and media. I also am in charge of locating, verifying and reporting on use-generated content found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Map and Tik Tok; interviewing eyewitnesses for breaking news stories including Uvalde, reversal of Roe v. Wade and Highland Park; and monitoring the NBC News tips inbox through email and consulting with leadership to determine which tips are actionable.
