I author the Weekly and Morning Agriculture newsletters and report on agriculture legislation and equity. For over a year I have had a unique focus on farmworkers, farmers of color and diversity in rural America while investigating inequity within USDA. I also convert my stories into podcasts and Google newscasts. I began working at POLITICO in May of 2020 as an editorial intern and was hired in October 2020 to be a legislative reporter. I worked the afternoon and evening breaking news shift covering courts, crime, police, coronavirus, civil unrest and general assignment. Sub-beats included education and Spanish-language coronavirus news -- a project launched in collaboration with another reporter. I took photos for stories published both in print and online. Stories were published in U.S. News and World Report, Times-News, Lewiston Report and more. My coverage of a vigil for George Floyd won second place at the Idaho Press Clubs.

I also proofread the lower thirds prior to live broadcasts and communicated with anchors, producers and directors prior and during live broadcasts. The news director even let me report and front a package based on a story written for my student paper. This story won a first place award at the Idaho Press Clubs.
