The Department of Public Relations at the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications invites applications for a nine- or twelve-month appointment at the lecturer or senior lecturer level. The position will begin either July (for twelve-month) or August (for nine-month) 2026. In the Department of Public Relations, faculty, students, staff, alumni, and professionals work together to continually improve our program. As a result, our graduates go on to be future leaders, change makers, scholars, writers, and critical thinkers who make us proud. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in public relations. The faculty member may teach and supervise graduate students. Candidates will mentor undergraduate and graduate students, engage in governance and other service activities, and demonstrate interest in contributing to online education, community, and the internationalization of the college and university. Candidates are typically expected to teach three courses or the equivalent per semester (and one in the summer if on twelve-month appointment) in addition to performing service duties.

Required Qualifications:
 
• A bachelor's degree or higher in public relations, communications or a related field is required.
• At the lecturer level, applicants must have at least 5 years of professional communications experience.
• At the senior lecturer level, applicants must have at least 10 years of professional communications experience, including leadership experience
 
Preferred:
 
• Master's degree in public relations, communications or related field.
• A senior executive with at least 15 years of professional communications experience.
• Evidence of effective guiding and coaching students in a classroom environment.
• Experience in areas relevant to the department including sports communication, corporate communication, or public interest communication.
