You will report to the News Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead digital content creation and distribution, writing, editing, and publishing compelling, accurate stories and social graphics for WPBF.com, our mobile app, and all social platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Send breaking news push alerts and live updates across digital platforms with accuracy and urgency.

  • Familiarity with newsroom content management systems, FTP, and basic video editing tools.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, including answering viewer phone calls, monitoring social feeds, coordinating crews, and publishing updates simultaneously.
  • Calm and decisive under pressure, especially during breaking news.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Related military experience will be considered.

That's why, behind the scenes, we believe in being an organization as diverse and varied as the audience we reach, ensuring that the content we create is more compassionate, and more representative of the communities we serve.
