WTAE, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA is looking for an IT Specialist to join our station. You will help oversee the IT operations at our station and work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The IT Specialist reports to the IT Manager and performs daily maintenance on computers, virtual systems, network infrastructure, printers and provides user support.
Responsibilities
Support user needs across all departments, including News, Creative Services, Sales and Administration.
Maintain imaging machines, updating firmware and managing hardware inventory.
Assist the IT Manager with IT systems upgrades and new platform deployments.
Assist the Engineering Team with support, upgrading, and deployment of broadcast systems. Including Master Control and Production systems. (Florical, Bitcentral, ENPS, Weather, etc.)
Provide technical guidance to end-users and mobile device support.
Maintain LAN/IT infrastructure, installation and support of network hardware and software.
Occasional travel to news bureau, transmitter and translator locations.
Analyze and implement corporate data back-up, disaster recovery and security procedure
Active Directory.
Vmware and Hyper-V virtual environments.
Service Now.
Manage hardware inventory, replacement cycle and deployment.
Requirements
Working knowledge of managed network switches and architecture concepts
VMWare, Cisco or Microsoft certifications preferred
Prior experience with a large user base
Experience in the television broadcast setting preferred
Experience with networked, stand-alone printers and digital copiers
Enterprise and web-based applications
VPN, Cisco equipment, TCP/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN Management
Communications skills and customer-service attitude
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
Higher education in technology, SBE certification or related military experience will be considered
Must have a willingness to learn and manage new systems.
Must possess a positive attitude and driven by successful problem solving.
Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
