The GroundTruth Project is a dynamic nonprofit organization whose mission is to train the next generation of journalists to tell the most important stories of our time. Since its incorporation as an independent 501(c)3 organization in mid-2014, GroundTruth has established itself as a leading voice on a range of social justice issues, including climate change, global health, income inequality and international peace and security. Our efforts have built award-winning editorial teams to produce in-depth journalism that explores challenging global issues through local, on-the-ground reporting. Last year, GroundTruth launched Report for America, a new national service program addressing a crisis in journalism by fielding emerging reporters to local news deserts across the country. If funding goals are met, RFA will scale to 1,000 reporters by 2023.
