Company Description:

Pushkin is looking for an Assistant/Associate Producer to support the Rebels & Rules department’s projects. The Rebels & Rules team works on shows such as Against the Rules with Michael Lewis and Slight Changes of Plans with Maya Shankar.

The Assistant/Associate Producer will play a critical production role from the earliest stages of research and development to ongoing production and will be expected to multi-task accordingly. This position requires growing recording and editing skills, a good nose for narrative, and an ability to keep sources, files, and other production resources organized. This person will work closely with the Executive Producer and other team members to create compelling, informative, and innovative programming that has become the hallmark of Pushkin projects. This position reports to Catherine Girardeau, Executive Producer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Booking interview guests, tape synchers and studios
• Researching and preparing interview prep background questions for hosts
• Cutting tape using ProTools and/or Descript
• Assembling episodes or book chapter drafts in ProTools
• Sourcing music using our sound libraries
• Sourcing, digitizing, and maintaining clip logs for third-party audio used in our productions
• Attending meetings and taking notes
• Other tasks and projects as assigned by producers and the Executive Producer

• Attention to detail combined with strong organization skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of the audio landscape, with a deep love of listening
• Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and work across geographically-dispersed teams
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
• A collaborative mindset with an ability to explain production processes clearly
• Strong interpersonal skills, especially working with strong-willed creative talent

This is a full-time staff position that will be based in New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA with a hybrid work arrangement. To ensure safety among ourselves and our communities, we require that all Pushkin employees are fully vaccinated with the FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots.

Compensation will comprise a base salary, full benefits (medical, dental, vision), and eligibility for an annual performance bonus and stock options in the company. Pushkin employees have two-week a Pushkin-wide holiday break where the entire company closes so that everyone can truly relax and recharge, an additional two weeks of paid vacation, paid holidays, and eligibility for parental leave.
