Company Description:

Our Programs:

  • Global Policy Forum explores political, economic, security and environmental policy and practice through more than 100 moderated conversations every year which are open to our members and the public. Convening on week days and evenings, these conversations with key leaders take place around the Bay Area, in San Francisco at World Affairs’ offices and in self-organized chapters in the Peninsula, Marin, the East Bay and Sacramento. As part of the World Affairs’ "Engage" series, events feature a post-discussion Q&A, through which audience members have the chance to ask their questions of the speaker directly and gain insights they might not get elsewhere.
  • Global Philanthropy Forum (GPF), a project of World Affairs, is a diverse global community of individual philanthropists, grant makers, social investors and executives of private and public foundations committed to international causes. Through an annual conference, special programs and matchmaking services, GPF seeks to inform, enable and enhance the strategic nature of its members’ giving and social investing. GPF has helped launch affiliates around the world: the Brazilian Philanthropy Forum and the African Philanthropy Forum were launched to connect indigenous philanthropists and social investors with each other, to build a learning community and to inform and enable the strategic nature of their giving in the countries and regions where they made their wealth. Inspired by the GPF its members and participants have also helped launch other donor networks such as the Dasra Philanthropy Forum and Filantropía Transformadora. Attendance to the GPF conference is by invitation only.
  • Education Program supports and inspires the global leaders of tomorrow with a variety of opportunities and resources for students and educators to broaden their knowledge of international affairs. Activities, such as a student-led policy simulation, provide high school and community college students with in-depth study and training on today’s global issues. The Youth Outreach Initiative extends World Affairs’ opportunities to students at under-resourced high schools in the Bay Area.
