Company Description:

The Longmont Leader is a local news startup in Longmont, Colorado that is set to launch in the spring of 2020. 

The Leader is the second site to be established by The Compass Experiment, a local news lab created by McClatchy and Google News Initiative's Local Experiments project. The first, Mahoning Matters, was launched in Youngstown, Ohio in the fall of 2019. 

The overall goal of The Compass Experiment is to find a sustainable future for local news by launching three local news sites focused on underserved communities.
