Capital & Main is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, created in 2013 and registered in 2015. whose specific purpose is producing investigative reporting, news features and analysis of issues such as economic inequality, climate change, healthcare, housing and immigration. Capital & Main is the winner of more than 200 journalism awards including the Online Journalist of the Year prize from the Southern California Journalism Awards and several Best in the West awards. Its stories have been co-published in more than 200 media outlets, from The Atlantic, The Guardian and Fast Company to The American Prospect, Grist, Slate and the Daily Beast.
