The Role
We're seeking a versatile Staff Writer to join our team. In this evolving position, you'll contribute to EverOut’s mission by creating engaging content of all kinds about the diverse happenings in Chicago (from art shows to concerts, restaurant openings to film screenings, cultural festivals, and more) while helping maintain and curate our event calendar, inspiring our community, and contributing to our company’s growth. This is a dynamic role, where flexibility and collaboration will be key. If you're the go-to person in your friend group to make plans for a night out, we want to hear from you!
Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
- Create compelling content about cultural events and entertainment across the city
- Keep our events calendar up to date by researching and adding upcoming events
- Help moderate incoming event data from various sources
- Contribute to our digital presence across our website and social channels
- Collaborate with our team to ensure our platforms remain current, relevant, and engaging
- Identify new trends and opportunities to connect with our audience
Experience We Value
- Writing or editorial background
- Familiarity with digital content platforms and basic HTML
- Experience with social media and digital communication tools
- Background in fast-paced environments where attention to detail matters

Additional Information
This is a full-time, non-exempt, union position. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, though hours can vary with this role, including some evening and weekend work. Applicants should live in the Chicago metro area.
