About this position:
 
With newsroom-caliber writing skills, a product-manager mindset, and a strong eye for visual storytelling, the PR Content Creator plans, creates, and optimizes content across all platforms. This includes producing high-quality copy, video, graphics, and other multimedia assets that align with strategic objectives, collaborating with other content creators throughout the Commission.
 
Adept at working across teams, they translate a variety of content types and topics and transform into compelling narratives and media-ready materials. Their work becomes the foundation for the team to amplify the brand’s voice through various media, digital, and stakeholder channels—ensuring every message is aligned, on-brand, and impactful.
 
The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to create campaigns and messaging that spark interest, drive engagement, and inspire action. We are looking for someone who is not only highly creative, but also able to craft compelling content that connects emotionally with diverse audiences and strengthens the public presence of the California Strawberry brand.
 
As the Commission’s primary video storyteller, the PR Content Creator edits and produces high-quality video content, including storyboarding, shooting, post-production and final distribution.
 
A core contributor to the Commission’s communications effort, they work closely with the Public Relations Manager as part of our external communications team. While being a collaborative creative thinker, the PR Content Creator demonstrates excellent attention to detail and maintains a focus on flawless and timely tactical execution to ensure successful project deliveries.
 
The position is located in the Watsonville Office. Up to 20% travel within California’s strawberry growing regions can be expected. The position is an exempt full-time, in-person position with a 40-hour per week schedule, which includes benefits.  The normal schedule is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
 
This position requires the ability to perform essential in-person activities, with the appropriate safeguards, including a vaccination(s) in accordance with Title VI, the ADA, EEOC guidance, and FEHA.
