The Associate Producer, Newsletters, is responsible for creating and managing editorial content across platforms, including, but not limited to: email and newsletters, websites, visuals, interactive multimedia platforms and social media. This is a critical role on WBURs newsletter team, helping to expand and manage a growing product portfolio. The Associate Producer is responsible for writing, editing and publishing material in an accurate, timely and compelling manner with a focus on audience development and newsletter subscriber growth. Important skills include a versatile writing style, including the ability to approach complex topics in an engaging, accessible style, think creatively, and have an audience-first mindset. This job requires a thorough understanding of how to promote audience engagement with digital users. A key aspect of this role is the ability to imagine the many ways one story can be told across platforms. This person should care deeply about journalistic standards, have strong news judgment and be an excellent copy editor. This role also requires collaboration across many groups at the station and newsroom, so the ability to clearly communicate and work in a team-based, friendly environment is important.
The Associate Producer position may require a flexible schedule that could include weekend work and early morning hours. 2-5 years related experience recommended. This position has the opportunity to be hybrid. This position is covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA, and has a minimum annualized salary of $67,958, and goes up from there based on experience and internal equity.
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience required.
At least three years of related work experience required.
