An immediate opportunity is available for a Multimedia Content Producer/Editor to cover social justice issues in New Jersey, including immigration and criminal justice, and write articles and other content for NJ Spotlight News’ online platforms, as well as contribute to broadcast and other programming. Specific responsibilities include: • Provide coverage and analysis of key public policy and politics in New Jersey in this election year, with a preferred focus around social justice issues, including immigration and criminal justice; • Produce both breaking and enterprise stories on a regular basis, keeping up with the news and developments around the core issues, especially as it relates to the 2021 election; • Additional duties, as assigned.
Qualifications include: • A minimum of five-plus years’ experience producing multimedia content; • Strong writing and reporting skills; • Ability to produce multimedia-story elements and comfortable with appearing on broadcast news segments; • Ability to maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced environment; • Ability to produce audio, video, and social media content.
Candidates who are bilingual and have experience working with New Jersey state government are preferred.
