Want to cover America’s most interesting city for one of the nation's best metro newspapers? The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate is seeking a City Hall reporter to cover the mayor’s office, the City Council, various municipal agencies and the general growth and development of New Orleans. We’re looking for a veteran journalist who can handle a demanding mix of daily beat coverage and long-form enterprise, and who is deeply curious about political power and those who wield it. The ideal candidate would have an extensive background covering politics and elections and a proven track record of using public records and data to find hidden stories. A distinctive writing style is paramount, as is the ability to collaborate. Candidates must also understand the importance of breaking news and leveraging social media.
The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate is a 7-day, home-delivered newspaper with local owners and a veteran staff, many of whom have covered the Crescent City for years.
