Description The Center for Public Integrity, a Pulitzer Prize-winning nonprofit news organization focused on investigating inequality, seeks a data journalist for a full-time, one-year position.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with large-scale GIS projects and experience working with QGIS, ArcMap or PostGIS. Familiarity with real estate and tax data is also a plus.

Public Integrity is based in Washington, D.C., but we are working remotely under pandemic conditions, and open to remote work applicants for the duration of the one-year period for this position. Although this is a one-year position, there may be opportunity for longer-term employment should funding allow.

Acquire, clean and analyze data for independent and collaborative investigative data journalism projects.
Build data visualizations and tools.
Work with local news partners on co-reporting projects.
Work with Public Integrity’s audience and engagement team to identify opportunities and problems that can be solved through public-facing interactives and tools.
Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated experience working on investigative data journalism or equivalent projects.
Excellent spreadsheet and database skills, including familiarity with SQL.
Familiar with math and statistics needed for sophisticated data analysis.
Data visualization skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
Exceptional organizational skills and a proven ability to work collegially with others.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training.
