The Adweek Content Studio is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to drive the visual creativity of the multi-platform custom content and native advertising campaigns that engage Adweek’s audience of marketing and advertising professionals.
The Graphic Designer will work closely with editors, writers and campaign producers on the wide range of award-winning projects we create for our content partners. You will be creating the visual style and language that we use to communicate and bring attention to our stories. These programs take a variety of different forms – interactive articles, eBooks, videos and animation, guides, posters, infographics and more.
This is an amazing opportunity for the right person. It requires both hands-on design execution as well as the ability to work with and guide outside illustrators, photographers and designers. You will gain experience across a wide range of formats – digital, video, motion graphics, print, events and more – while learning and mastering the different platforms we use. Your creativity and design sensibility will shine through.
Candidates should have a strong background in digital graphic design, ideally with an editorial and marketing sensibility. The ability to effectively manage multiple projects on time and on budget is a must. Access to a network of freelance illustrators and designers is a bonus. Responsibilities will range from early-stage concepting and proposal design to final execution and layout—no job too big or too small.
Oversee design and visual execution of all content studio initiatives
Develop and execute the visual style that we use to communicate our branded content and the stories our advertisers need to tell
Be a hands-on designer, quickly turning around art and design concepts that help bring eyeballs to our content while being sensitive to advertiser positioning
Collaborate with internal teams to understand creative project goals, establish comprehensive design briefs and develop creative assets
Contract and manage freelance designers and illustrators while staying within budget and ensuring creative quality control
Research photography and illustration and manipulate images in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.
Balance multiple projects on tight turnaround while maintaining high creative standards
An expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects) with 2–5 years of design experience
Ability to work seamlessly between digital and print formats
A clear approach visual storytelling, including experience with motion graphics
Passionate about editorial and marketing design
Past experience at a business publication or with B2B advertising is a bonus
