Morning Brew is a New York City-based media company that’s disrupting the traditional business news landscape. We are ramping up our work in audio and are looking for an ambitious, creative, experienced and enthusiastic Director of Audio to spearhead these efforts.
This is a leadership position in our newly formed multimedia department. It’s perfect for a deeply experienced podcast producer with management experience, a creative flair and an entrepreneurial approach to non-fiction storytelling and journalism.
You will oversee all elements of content development and audio production for our existing franchises Business Casual and Founder’s Journal. But more than that, you will ideate around new audio possibilities, launch new shows and partner with creators across the Morning Brew team to expand the brand across format and platform.

Responsibilities · Guide editorial strategy and direction for Morning Brew’s podcasts with the Head of Multimedia and Head of Content · Build and manage best-in-class team of producers and editors for all audio properties · Lead audio content development · Establish and manage production and post-production workflows · Generate new ideas to help push each show forward in the short and long term · Ensure high quality editing and technical production for each show · Manage and support the growth and development of our producers/editors · Manage and support the growth and development of our hosts
Qualifications · 7-10 years of leadership experience in podcasts/audio production, · At least 2 years of experience managing a podcast and/or multiple podcasts · Experience with remote production, and especially with coordinating amongst several stakeholders including sound designers, produders, production coordinators, studio managers, audio engineers, fact checkers etc. · Experience with and passion for both narrative and interview-based podcasts · A keen understanding of and excitement for the general business space · An entrepreneurial, can-do attitude with a bias towards growth and creative risk taking · Superior attention to detail and organization, especially when judging multiple projects · Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills · Comfort with ProTools and/or Audition
