Job Description

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory, a DOE research facility located in Golden, Colorado, is dedicated to the advancement of renewable energy technology design, analysis and implementation.  
 

We’re looking for an energetic and collaborative communications professional to join the NREL Corporate Communications Office.  The successful candidate will be someone who is a strong writer and project manager. This person has experience successfully executing a variety of communications and marketing products such as website content, email news, merchandise, and virtual event planning tasks. This position requires excellent presentation and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects/events simultaneously.

Duties will include:

  • Web content development and publishing, following web standards and best practices
  • Communications activities measurement and reporting
  • Email newsletter writing and publishing
  • General marketing research and writing support for the corporate communications office
  • Coordinating design, editing, coding, and printing assignments
  • Sharing NREL’s story with visitors and the community at large
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with the general public as well as internal stakeholders

Successful candidates must possess:

  • Understanding of corporate marketing and branding principles
  • Experience using web content management systems and email marketing and list management tools
  • Understanding of how websites, digital media, and on-line content advances clear communications and practices.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to react positively to rapidly changing circumstances
  • Project management skills and attention to detail
  • Experience writing content for a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Understanding of budgets and schedules
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Can-do attitude and collaborative work style
  • Three or more years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing or related field
