The Granite State News Collaborative is a collective of 17 media organizations across the state of New Hampshire that include legacy and online only news, business and parenting magazines, as well as public radio and public television. Collaborative partners have agreed to work together to report, investigate and share news relative to particular issues of impact to our state.
As an organization, The Collaborative employs freelance journalists to contribute original, investigative, solutions focused reporting to this effort. Those stories are then shared with and published by the partner outlets.
The Collaborative is currently seeking freelance investigative reporters, data journalists and researchers to help us continue our shared reporting on Covid and its impacts in our state as well as racial and social justice issues. We are also interested in original reporting that can be produced in Spanish and English as well as in translating some of our partner news content into Spanish. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish will be strongly considered.
Pay is per project and competitive. Given the pandemic, most of this work can be done remotely, although some travel within the region may be necessary as long as it is safe to do so. While we prefer candidates residing in New Hampshire we will consider anyone living in nearby states (Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, upstate NY).
