The Morning Call, located in Allentown, Pa., in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, is looking for a reporter who will tell the stories of our under-reported urban communities, not from the politicians’ point of view, but its residents, particularly in Latino neighborhoods of Allentown, whose population is 50% Hispanic, and Bethlehem, with a similar demographic. We want a reporter who will be aggressive in developing sources in the community in pursuit of telling stories of social injustice and how that injustice affects daily lives. We also want a reporter to show the positive or negative effects of public policy on urban residents, including criminal justice and possible reforms. In short, we want to tell the stories of our cities that we aren’t telling now. This position requires bilingual speaking skills and social media acuity. The Lehigh Valley is a growing community, located 90 minutes west of New York City and 60 minutes north of Philadelphia.
