Covering Climate Now is seeking an exceptional, dedicated journalist to serve full-time as Digital Director. Covering Climate Now is a young, fast-growing organization, and as a member of a small team the right candidate should be prepared to participate enthusiastically in the growth process. As Digital Director you will collaborate with the CCNow team and report directly to the Managing Director. You will also work directly with partner outlets.
Responsibilities will include:
Content management of CCNow website, supporting our partners and providing high-quality curated content to a general audience
Develop and maintain a robust social media presence for the initiative
Curate and write content for the site and initiative, including resources for partners
Co-write and distribute weekly newsletters
Working knowledge of and experience with content management systems
Expertise devising and executing social media strategies on Twitter and Facebook
Excellent news judgement, writing, and editing skills
Deep knowledge of and passion about the climate crisis and climate reporting
Expertise in online production and graphic production
Spanish or other non-English language speaking skills are a plus
Located in NYC or San Francisco Bay Area
